I think it takes so much courage to take your art to the streets. Aspiring artists set up all over the city attempting to sell their work and gain a following. Today while strolling through Union Square I had to stop and watch Joe Mangrum create one of his sand installations on the sidewalk. And while they don't last long, it is so cool to watch these "paintings" come together. According to images of his other installations on his website, I caught this one when it was about half way done. He updates his website and Facebook page daily as to where he will be next if you'd like to see him in action.
