Holy Meringue

Aren't they beautiful?! Mini lemon meringue pies at Glaser's Bake Shop on the UES.

The freshly baked pastry smell that hits you when you walk into Glaser's is incredibly enticing.  Around since 1902, it's mostly full of locals but definitely worth a trip uptown for visitors.  And for any of you Nashvillians reading this blog, you'll undoubtedly feel as though you've just walked through the old doors of Becker's.  Blue and white tiled floors, oak cabinets, and a pressed tin ceiling make it easy to imagine what it felt like to enter this sweet shop over a century ago.

One of my favorite things about NYC is all the little shops like this one, they give the neighborhood flavor!
