Nashville

Although I couldn't be more excited to get to the beach tomorrow and relax, I can't quit looking at images from the flood in Nashville.  My heart is really aching for those who have been affected.  So many people are left devastated by the massive destruction.  And it's so hard for me to imagine my hometown under water and all of the people that make up the wonderful community in such despair.

Growing up in Nashville was nothing short of wonderful.  It is a beautiful city with an amazing community of people.  Even though it's a growing, large city with so much to offer, we have really held onto a true Southern charm that visitors remember and want to come back for.  I know that water wont wash that away.

I've been seeing this message on my friends' Facebook walls, if you have a moment, please support this beautiful city's recovery.

Please spread the word, in case ppl don't grasp the severity of what's going on. Shelters are at capacity, missing people are unaccounted for, many homes are under water, we're in a water conservation emergency, much of Nashville's economic base is threatened by flood damage, etc. Nashville and surrounding areas need help. Text 'REDCROSS' to 90999 to donate $10 to disaster relief.

Good points, Hon. I drove from Hendersonville to Franklin through downtown yesterday. While the Interstates are open the devastation on all sides of Nashville is unbelievable.
